F ree Yourself was the fourth single and is the title track of Fantasia’s debut album Free Yourself. The powerhouse anthem was written by Missy Elliott and Craig X. Brockman. The was a major success on the R&B charts and it reached number three on the US R&B/Hip Hop chart, and peaked at number one on the US Adult R&B Airplay chart. Free Yourself was nominated for two Grammy Awards (Best R&B song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance), and is also the winner of an ASCAP R&B/Hip-Hop award. The song was released on June 1, 2005 and in, October 2007, Free Yourself reappeared on the Billboard R&B Hip Hop Singles Recurrent chart at #29, indicating the songs’ continuous airplay, years later.
