I have a real treat for you today!  Since I’ve been experiencing burn out this week, I went and enlisted one of the sweetest people I know to guest blog today.  She is going to share with us, her experience at the BET Awards.

She really needs no introduction, but for those of you who may have been in a bubble or something for the past 12 years……she is a member of the biggest selling gospel trio in history. I am talking about Trin-i-tee 5:7 member Adrian Anderson!!!  Give it up, for her!  She soooo sweet!

Hello Everyone-

Our group Trin-i-tee 5:7 received another BET AWARD Nomination this year and that makes 2 years in a Row we received this Honor! This is due to your unwavering support over the 12 years we’ve been here………..Wow 12 years goes by fast! We thank you for making us the number 1 selling trio in The History of Gospel Music and wanted to share the experience of this day with you.

I am from Sacramento, California our Golden State of So much Beauty and it’s an Honor and Pleasure to share our group’s experience on this Exciting day with you all……especially my Hometown!

There is a shocking sadness with the Unexpected and Sudden loss of Michael Jackson…..this as you can imagine changed the tone of everything and made this show become more historical than previous BET AWARDS and rightfully so….this is a tragic loss yes for music lovers who have grown up with Michael Jackson’s Music, however even more so for the Jackson Family……A son, brother, Uncle was lost and nothing compares to a family losing a loved one………..Prayers to the Jackson Family and I pray for Katherine Jackson ….she has lost one of her babies and has her grandchildren now….so know Love and Compassion as well as a numb shock was present.

Saturday — June 27th 

Morning– We are going through wardrobe (checking what fits and if there are any last minute changes…smile this is always an interesting time because if one thing is wrong….the frenzy begins in replacing or changing a look!)….I stay calm though…it’s the best way to manage the day, keep the joy and and maintain the pace)  We are also informed that due to the restructuring of the show for Michaels Tributes our catagory(Best Gospel Artist) will not be presented…we really do understand and gracefully move forward with our day.

12:30p noontime– We proceed to the BET press room, now the press room has Radio Stations from all over the world present.

Table after table are radio hosts awaiting interviews from all the Celebrities and nominees who are a part of this  2009 BET AWARDS EVENT. Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington D.C, Jamaica etc. the energy is buzzing as celebrities/artist/athletes as well as everyone’s publicist and escort guides each one through. So we are seated to begin and behind us is Day 26, to the side of us is Tiny & Toya (promoting their new reality show). We are asked about our nomination. Michael Jackson and congratulated on our staying power it is really a beautiful thing because many of these hosts let us know that in their day to day lives they listen to Trin-i-tee 5:7 and that our music has gotten them through and uplifted their spirits many times………….it is a part of the fabric of their lives……that touches us ( some artists never get to build up a solid body of work……..we’ve been very Blessed to have done so.

Were making rounds as well……..Angel, Chanelle and myself look at one another and can tell we are thinking about when we 1st began and here we are today………..it’s a sentimental feeling…………..we never knew when we met that we would sing together…..God Placed us together for this group’s purpose and we always acknowledged and respected this truth…it ikeep us humble.

We then went to the BET AWARD GIFT SUITE and received Skin care, dresses and sweet cupcakes ……….mmm they were a sweet treat,Beautifully Delicious

We return to our Hotel The Westin LAX….one of our main ones in Los Angeles. We refresh ourselves, rest a bit and then get dressed for the BET AWARDS NOMINEE PARTY hosted by DEBRA LEE the CEO OF BET.

Chanelle wears  a Faith Connection Dress, Angel has a Black Mid dress and I wore a Black Satin one shoulder House Of Dereon dress….We are ready to start the eveing!

Evening–  This is a reunion,a who’s who and great Musical Celebration! 

Let’s just say Jamie Foxx started hosting that evening and led a joyous and moving tribute to Michael’s life. Rnb Crooner Joe  contributed and Genuine was right there cheering them on…….then Chaka had the night and blew everyone away…………she does no less with each performance.

Suzanne Depasse one of my favorite women in the industry was present and that made my night!

Michael’s Music Blast through out the air, then Earth Wind and Fire, Chaka Kahn, Cheryl Lynn, Ojay’s 

Love, Friendship, Laughing and Networking was in full force…so was the Music!

 Sunday — June 28th 2009

It’s A Beautiful Sunday and Excitement yet a Somber Heartfelt Love for Michael Jackson is in the Air…..

Hair is being done ( Stephon Onea) styles my hair, I am finishing my make up and preparing to do Angel’s Face…………( Being a Professional Make Up Artist Comes In handy)

We get dressed and leave for the Red Carpet. Angel and Chanelle wear Faith Connexion and I wear Angela Dean of DeanZign (courtesy of Fanny and Anthony Henderson)

The Red Carpet is electric and is always fun to me. We step out of our limousine and Fans are Screaming and waving…..we want to send that Love right back so I turn around to wave…….they are waiving back….love the interaction.

We can see the Pre Show Stage ahead of us. We are greeted by our publicist Mark Young and began.

CNN, Good morning America, Us Weekly, People Magazine, BET, Singers Room, Sister2Sister one after another and it is moving along wonderfully. Beyonce comes by and greets our group, There Alicia Keys, Carmello Anthony, Lebron James, Dr. Bobby Jones,  Arsenio Hall and son, T-Pain, Niecy Nash, Keke Palmer, Mario,Kim Coles, Sherri Shepher, Kerri Hilson, Joe Jackson, and etc.

Camera’s Flashing and Celebrities Smiling and everyone talking about Michael Jackson.

We then proceed to close out the Red Carpet and enter the Shrine Auditorium for the show to begin.

Arriving to seats and New Edition Hit the stage performing several early Jackson 5 hits the moves were on and entertained the crowd. Jamie Foxx celebrated Michael wearing a version of the famous Red Jacket!!! that jacket is it’s Brand…….from there we all enjoyed along with the viewers the show that all have now seen. It was soooo Good to see Mary Mary performing with Queen Latifah.

Maxwell did a beautiful performance that deserves the acknowledgment and Beyonce went Etheral in her performance and I took it as a special moment for Michael Jackson…..Tranquil and Heavenly.

Congratulations to Mary Mary for their win.

 We are now off to prepare for “The Essence Music Festival” In New Orleans…….we are performing in the T.D. Jakes Tribute….Well deserved.
