M ary J. Blige is poised to be the next celebrity to put her celebrity brand to the test with a signature fragrance. Mary who is already an ambassador for the beauty line Carol’s Daughter, is working with them for the upcoming fragrance to be called My Life by Mary J. Blige. This will be their first foray into celebrity scents — and will also mark first the time Mary is branching out into fragrance.
And while Mary hasn’t yet revealed any specific details, the self-confessed “beauty nut” was spotted yesterday (Apr28) filming the commercial for her upcoming fragrance in the Meatpacking District in New York City.
Mary along with Jay-Z, Will and Jada Smith, and others are investors in Carol’s Daughter. When the group first got involved, Carol’s Daughter did an estimated $5 million in retail sales yearly. Now the brand is said to have grown to more than $35 million in retail sales yearly.
