H ip-hop and Country music royalty, Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton are slated to rule things on the big screen as co-stars in the upcoming flick “Joyful Noise.”
The two will play a pair of ladies who work to stop the end of a gospel choir. Latifah will portray the mother of a couple of teenagers who takes the reins of the Pacashau Gospel Choir after the choir leader dies. Dolly will play the late choir director’s wife who is gunning for the chance to take over the choir.
Warner Bros.-based Alcon Entertainment will produce, alongside Farrell Paura Productions and O.N.C. Entertainment. Todd Graff, who wrote the screenplay, will direct. The movie is set for a 2011 release.
