Tickets for US gospel heavyweight Pastor Shirley Caesar’s performance are selling fast.
Shirley Caesar will be touring South Africa for the first time in her music career, which spans more than 40 years. In a tour dubbed “We Shall Overcome”, she will perform in Durban on November 27 supported by local girls Deborah Fraser and Hlengiwe Mhlaba.
The following day, she will perform at the Nelspruit Rugby Stadium with supporting acts Pastor Benjamin Dube, Sipho Makhabane, the Church on the Hill Choir and Pastor Solly Mahlangu. Caesar concludes her tour at the Coca-Cola Dome in Jozi on November 29, sharing the stage with Keke, Zodwa and gospel group Redeemed.
Concert organiser Peter Tladi of T-Musicman says Caesar’s tour coincides with the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children and will be used to give impetus to the campaign. “It gives us great happiness to eventually bring Shirley Caesar to South Africa to share, minister and entertain,” says Tladi.
