STREET NAMED AFTER WALTER HAWKINS

The city of Oakland, California honored Gospel great Bishop Walter Hawkins with his very own street name. Bishop Hawkins’ church Love Center Ministries sits at the intersection of 106th and International Blvd in Oakland, California. 106th street was recently re-named “Walter Hawkins Way”. Oakland City Council member Larry Reed was on hand to present Bishop Hawkins with the decleration and a model of the street sign.

One of Gospel music’s most legendary figures, Bishop Walter Hawkins is one of the most beloved pastors and figures in contemporary Gospel. In the Forty plus years of his career, he has created one of the most prolific and outstanding catalogs of hit gospel recordings and published songs.
